Court sentenced participant of ‘Onyshchenko’s gas fraud scheme’

Pechersk district court of Kyiv sentenced Yuriy Dubynskyi, the participant of Onyshchenko’s gas fraud scheme. He signed plea bargain and is ready to compensate 30 million UAH to the state-owned company “Ukrgazvydobuvannya”.

According to investigation, Dubynskyi, in collusion with the group of people, purchased a number of shell companies, which were subsequently used for laundering money received from selling underpriced natural gas. This caused state loss of 740 million UAH.

The investigation found out that MP Onyshchenko paid Dubynskyi 30 million UAH for his services.

The court found him guilty of fictitious business, and Dubynskyi plea bargained. According to the court decision, he should transfer 30 million UAH to the state-owned company’s account within a month and pay a 85,000 UAH penalty.
