The Commission of Judges advised international organisations to coordinate nominations to the Council of International Experts
On Tuesday, August 7, the Head of the High Qualification Commission of Judges Serhii Koziakov stated that the HQCJ advised international organizations, eligible to nominate experts to the Public Council of International Experts, to coordinate nominations among themselves. The Public Council of International Experts will participate in the selections of anticorruption judges.
Koziakov also confirmed that the HQCJ intends to wait for coordinated list of nominations till September 15. This step is highly appreciated.
Also, the HQCJ hopes to see more experts with judicial background on the list of nominees.
At the same time, Koziakov questioned legal opportunity for international organizations to offer one joint list of nominees instead of separate lists of nominees from each interested organization. Legal pretext voiced by him is that each candidate shall be nominated by certain organization individually rather than collectively. However, the law does not define the form for international organizations to submit nominations. This means it is possible to have a consolidated, joint list of nominees with specifications which organization nominated whom.
