The case regarding theft of funds allocated for internally displaced persons was sent to the court
NABU detectives under the procedural guidance of SAPO prosecutors completed the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceeding regarding theft of funds allocated for internally displaced persons (IDPs). On February 11, 2019, the indictment against the head of the Children and Family Service of Kyiv regional state administration was sent to Pechersk district court of Kyiv.
The official is charged with committing the crime classified under part 2 article 344 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The investigation found out that funds allocated by the European Union for improvement of social housing for IDPs the accused transferred instead for modernization of private real estate.
On December 19, 2018, materials of the criminal proceeding were opened for the review to the official of Kyiv regional state administration and his lawyers.
NABU detectives have been investigating the above-mentioned facts since January 2018. The case was forwarded to NABU from Boryspil Local Prosecutor’s Office due to the jurisdiction.
Later, detectives initiated the inventory of assets of Children and Family Service of Kyiv regional state administration during the pre-trial investigation. Detectives took measures to ensure the compensation of losses amounting to more than 7 million UAH by returning assets to municipal / state property.
