Selections of anticorruption judges: HQCJ/PCIE joint sessions to be held during Christmas time
The High Qualification Commission of Judges (HQCJ) plans to appoint six members to the Public Council of International Experts (PCIE) by the end of October. The HQCJ is currently holding interviews with the nominees.
The HQCJ announced dates of judicial examinations for candidates to the High Anticorruption Court. They will pass tests on November 12 and do written assignment (compiling judicial decision) on November 14. It is expected that results of the test will be announced next day, while the ones of the written assignment – in 3-4 weeks (approximately mid-December).
Within the timeline established by the law, it is expected that joint sessions of the PCIE and the HQCJ for the purpose of possible disqualification of questionable candidates will be held from mid-December till mid-January (the law gives the PCIE and the HQCJ 30 days after final results of examination are announced to hold these joint sessions and make decisions). Meeting this deadline in holiday season will influence the effectiveness of PCIE work: there will be more days-off and the HQCJ will try to excuse inability to hold due number of joint sessions with vacations and workload with other ongoing judicial competitions.
