Second report on medicines procurements was presented: international procurements are effective

On November 14, Transparency International Ukraine together with the TAPAS project presented the second report on medicines procurements on Prozorro platform. It highlighted trends in the use of public funds for medicines procurements since 2017. The aim of the report was to define areas for growth and ways to optimize control over purchases in the healthcare field. Full text of the report may be found here.

The authors stress there is a positive example of centralized medicines procurements by international organizations (UNICEF, UNDP and Crown Agents). In these procurements more than 70% of suppliers are direct producers. This allows to decrease costs by almost 40% and therefore to provide much more people with essential medicines and products.

AntAC is proud to have been involved in advocacy of the international medicines procurements.
