Holos and Samopomich Parties supported Agenda for Justice
The Golos and Samopomich political parties were the first to endorse the Agenda for Justice – a list of demands made by non-governmental organizations to the upcoming 2019 parliamentary elections.
17 non-governmental organizations called on political parties and candidates to support the demands of civil society needed to establish real, not declarative, justice in Ukraine.
According to the activists, MPs should ensure proper reform of the judiciary, prosecutors, police, reboot some of the anti-corruption bodies, restore responsibility for illicit enrichment, deprive the SBU of excessive functions and keep such positive changes as international procurement of medicines.
Political parties are urged publicly to state their proposals for:
- renewal of the penalty for illicit enrichment
- real judicial reform
- transparent contests to the Constitutional Court
- deprivation of the SBU’s excessive functions
- reforms of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police
- restart of some of anti-corruption bodies
- reform of the prosecutor’s office, restarting the SBI and establishing a Financial Investigation Service
- approval of anti-corruption policy
- maintaining international procurement of medicines
