High Council of Justice appoints for a life term a judge who persecuted Maydan
In the meantime, while the President tries to persuade that no anticorruption court with special selection procedures for judges is needed, the High Council of Justice has appointed Maydan judge Oksana Dudar for life.
On the eve of December 21 and December 24, 2013 Oksana Dudar, judge of the Rivne District Administrative Court prohibited peaceful rallies with the installation of a tent camp near Rivne oblast state administration and local militia.
Disciplinary chamber of the HCJ refused to bring judge Dudar to administrative liability due to expiry of the statutory time limit for disciplinary action. However, the same HCJ’s decision states that while adopting the ruling of December 24, 2013, judge Dudar significantly violated the procedural law.
Rappourter on the case Alla Lesko informed that the HCJ received some 10 public appeals against Dudar’s lifetime appointment. Nevertheless, the HCJ members failed to pose even a single question to her, and the whole procedure of appointment took less than 10 min.
